Our topic was all about television violence. I went to school early because our group was not able to make the outline which will be presented on that day. It was like adrenaline rush which we need to think faster about our topic and I was nervous that my other groupmates were not around. Well, we were able to present it in the class.
My classmates served as the critics to our work. There were some questions about it and some suggestions on how to improve it. We learned a lot on that day. ^_^

Term Paper..
Last week would be a relieving one. Ma'am Lynnie asked us one by one about our topic and thesis statement. She gave us some opinions to make it better. I was very thankful that at last my topic was approved.
This next week would be a busy week for all of us; doing outlines and looking some of the references for our term paper. I hope i can accomplish all of these requirements!.

I had fun!
Last week's activity was really fun. Our lesson was about writing references in an APA style. Students who are required to make term papers should learn this to avoid plagiarism.Ma'am Lynnie let us brought manila paper and pen markers for the said activity. Each of the group had a representative which will be given references and do the APA style. The photocopy somehow helped us but the best thing of it was the limited time. It's like we had an adrenaline rush, trying to answer it before the time.
The exciting part was on giving points to our answers. Some were shouting and laughing. We gained 12 points in our group and we're very happy on it!

The Case of Jason Ivler.
Jason Ivler is the prime suspect in the November 18 road range murder of Renato Victor Ebarle, son of Presidential chief of staff Renato Ebarle Sr. After a couple of months hiding from the law, he was finally arrested at his mother’s Blue Ridge A Subdivision home. Ivler is the stepson of ADB British Economist Stephen Pollard and nephew of folk singer Freddie Aguilar who is the brother of her mother Marlene Aguilar Pollard.
I’ve seen on the television the actual raid of the NBI to the house of Marlene. It appears that she tried to hid her son in their storage room from the authorities, which they failed even after the two previous raids on their house. Eventhough Ivler was already arrested; Marlene still strongly denied that his son was taking refuge in her house.
We all know that the very first thing that a mother would do is to protect her child from danger. There are many ways in showing love to a child, and as what Marlene did in the situation, she preferred to hid Ivler because she thought that it is good for him; but things didn’t went through as what she wanted to be. For me, Marlene should surrender his son knowing that he killed someone rather than to suffer just like what happened to Ivler who got injuries during the raid. Everyone of us has a responsibility, and with that, she should let his son to face the consequences to make him realize on the things he had done. Marlene should also think on what the victim’s mother feels who lost her only son. It is not good that a mother will always take care of the bad consequences on his actions because her child will not know his/her limits. Marlene should not spoil Ivler when he was still young so that he would not act like this.

Prelim's done.
At last, we had our prelim last Friday. It's not that hard because Ma'am discussed our lessons very well. I thought we really had a ten page test but i think it has only 5 pages. Most of it was reading selection which you should arrange it and choose the topic sentence. There was also an essay part which is all about term paper.I hope I can get a big score.
Well, Ma'am let us think on a topic for our term paper and she will see if it will be approved. Unfortunately, ma'am did not approved it because my sources could only be blogs. So, I really need to think another better topic which I can really expand it and can get from reliable sources. Good luck to all of us! God bless.

NAMCYA: A Treasured Experience

As I watch the sea while we were sailing, the waves look fun and almost innocent as they crest and crash over one another. I can taste the salt in the air and I can see those towering buildings as we were almost there. I can imagine how that place looks like and how it is packed with people. I think to myself, “This would be fun”.
December 2005, a chorale group composed of 30 students from Bayugan National Comprehensive High School (BNCHS), Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur smugly represented the CARAGA region for the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Manila. By chance, I was one of them. I was really lucky to be chosen to the fact that I’m still a freshman in that school. Preparations were not easy for us. We rehearsed day and night before the competition. Sweat run down our faces and into our mouths. Our legs slowly became numb as we need to stand for about an hour without any extra movements. I can see that my choir mates were exhausted; some were muffled and got husky voices. But that hard-work turned into smiles as our teachers served as mouthwatering foods in every meal we had.
As we stepped at the port, everyone was animated and stirred up. All of us were expecting that this would be a great experience. We stayed in a public school for about one week as our temporary home. I was surprised that numerous students were already in the school at 5 o’clock in the morning. The day of the verdict had come. It started like any other, quiet, but with underlying vibration waiting to explode. As we were riding the bus to the venue, I perceived the heavy road traffic that made me to be giddy, busy people earning for money and the polluted air from factories and vehicles. We arrived at the CCP with mixed feelings. As we cross the threshold, all of us were uneasy. We went to the backstage, we were all standing trying to relax, discussing on things we need to focus and praying to God that He will guide us. Even though were all tense, as the call came over on our school, we gave the best shot we could give. There were really many astounding performances and we already know that we should accept whatever the result is. Unfortunately, we did not win the competition. Still, we’re very happy knowing that we had given our best.
I realized how physically tired I am but enjoyed our stay there. Only memories were left in my mind, and I cherish every single of them. I am ready to go home.

a busy 'week'..
This is the first week of class for the year 2010.Since I did not do my assignments last Christmas vacation, I really doubled my time just to accomplish those so many activities. I almost forgot to visit my blog! I know I am lazy (sometimes) and I think that would be my new years resolution. Actually, that is my new years resolution since I'm in high school(hahah).
This week for my English 2 class was about sensory words, fragment and run-on sentences. I usually used those common words in describing a thing. I really need to widen my vocabulary to be able to use vivid words. To be able to do this, I also need to read and read. Again, Ma'am gave us another blogging task and I hope that I can accomplish it before the deadline. Happy weekend!

2010.
Well, I would say that my vacation was fun! I really missed my family a lot and I spent time with them. I had a great time having a conversation with my 'mama' and 'papa' and doing those crazy things just like the old days. Christmas for me is just like a normal day. I am a Seventh-day Adventist(SDA) and we don't celebrate Christmas. It is because we don't believe that Christ was born on December 25. Eventhough my father is the only Roman Catholic in our house, still he respects our beliefs. I just slept and I even don't notice the firecrackers. I just really hate them.
Another year had come--2010! I really hope that this year would be better than last year. I was kind of sad because I'm leaving again and I will really miss my family. But still, I'm very thankful that God had given me another year. It would be a year again full of hopes. Happy new year and good luck!
